Fat Blogger, Part 2

So my doctor's office called this morning with the results of all the lab work etc from my visit last week.

Are you ready for this?

Post-The Lecture, it is determined that my health is as follows:

1. Blood pressure: Perfect. If anything, a little low.

2. Cholesterol: Perfect.

3. Blood sugar: Perfect

4. Range of motion (except for the bum shoulder?): Perfect.

5. Blood oxygen levels: Perfect

Who wants to eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's out of spite right now? THIS KID.

However, who will also stubbornly stick to her plan, again out of said spite? That's right. Me again.

But still. I don't think The Lecture was warranted. I'm just saying.

  1. I think your doctor is misguided. The only things you can tell about someone who is fat (using your descriptor) is that 1) they're fat, and 2) your misconceptions and prejudices about fat. Thin people get the same diseases, so fat is not the cause. Why would he assume you're not healthy with no evidence? Obviously, you are. One of the bloggers I follow writes extensively about this (with evidence) and advocates Health at Every Size: http://danceswithfat.wordpress.com/. Along with you, she helped me work towards my goal of mental health and self-acceptance, so I'm passing it on :-).
